What is Fashion:

Fashion designers work in various ways designing clothing and accessories, such as bracelets and necklaces. Due to the time it takes to bring a garment to market, designers must sometimes change consumer tastes.

Designers research fashion trends and interpret them for their audience. Manufacturers use their specific designs. This is the essence of the role of a designer; However, there is a variation within this that is determined by the purchasing and marketing approach, and the quality of the product; for example, inexpensive retailers will use inexpensive fabrics to interpret trends, but high-end retailers will ensure that the best available fabrics are used.

Fashion designers try to design clothes that are functional and aesthetically pleasing. They consider who is likely to wear a garment and the situations in which it will be worn, and they work with a wide range of materials, colors, patterns and styles. Although most clothing worn for everyday use falls within a narrow range of conventional styles, unusual garments are generally sought after for special occasions, such as evening dresses or party dresses.

Some garments are made specifically for an individual, as in the case of haute couture or custom tailoring. Today, most of the clothing is designed for the mass market, especially casual and everyday clothing is called ready-to-wear.

Fashion design is an art form dedicated to creating clothing and other lifestyle accessories. Modern Ionian fashion design falls into two basic categories: haute couture and ready-to-wear. The Haute Couture collection is dedicated to certain clients and is custom sized to exactly fit these clients. To qualify as a haute couture house, a designer has to be part of the Haute Couture Union Chamber and show a new collection twice a year featuring a minimum of 35 different outfits each time.
